How's that for some fortune cookie philosophy - but true. As for getting your hands on some 2004, you'll have to talk very nicely to the winery to see if they have any left over for sale.Michael Pinkushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15968983157077688761noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3729145939566318106.post-66712286344053229602009-04-29T12:46:00.000-04:002009-04-29T12:46:00.000-04:00I love Flat Rock Riesling however I can't find it ...I love Flat Rock Riesling however I can't find it anywhere. I am not surprised that your 2001 Gamay Noir survived for 6 years because they seem to have a talent for making old world style wines that age gracefully. If it ain't got any sugar in it, then it gets all puckery within 4-5 years, and tastes of dried everything: leather, fruit, shoe polish. I think Ontario wines should be consumed within three years, and if they are too tannic to begin with, then they will all end up like Bordeaux from 1975. First of all, year after year, vintage after vintage, this wine is sold out within 6 months of release date!! Secondly, it's clearly sat around for more that two years! It's an 02, you would have purchased it in 04 sometime, so therefore, 2006 would have been the 2 year mark. Yet, you just opened it now -- in 2008.
